Amanda is based in east Tennessee but has performed across the country as well as in Vancouver and Barcelona. She is always happy to travel to do comedy.
She would love to host, open, or feature on your show and promises not to refer to herself in the 3rd person when speaking out loud.
From dad jokes to dead dad jokes, Amanda Kruel’s comedy is both dorky and dark. She tackles daily life, relationships, and mental health with a demeanor that ranges from deadpan to dynamic. She shares her ideas and insecurities, folding in personal stories and shamelessly peppering wordplay throughout. Based in east Tennessee, she enjoys bringing her wit across the country and abroad.
In her six years of comedy, Amanda Kruel has shared the stage with comedians featured on SNL, Amazon, and Netflix. She has appeared on Don’t Tell shows and featured in North Carolina, Blue Ridge and Loons on the Lake comedy festivals. She was awarded an artist residency at East Austin Comedy Club, won Tiny Stage Comedy’s one-liner contest, and was a finalist in Jersey Hustle and Be Bold Be Heard comedy competitions. She primarily produces shows and performs in Knoxville, TN, where she lives.
Recently found this photo of me, circa 1991.
I didn't always want to be a comedian, but I did always want to make people pay attention to me, because if people pay attention to me, that means I'm doing something right, and then my mom will notice and she’ll have to love me.
If you don't know me from comedy, you may know me from my work in politics. It was a long time ago, and I don't think they want me back.
I don't really do political comedy, but apparently this history is relevant enough for me to share some memories.
I worked on democratic campaigns in 2016 and 2020 and they do NOT want me back.
Regarding my appearance in Wikileaks: Long story short, I am annoying. Full story at The Tennessean.
